Membership Terms.
These terms explain how LBFA annual memberships, renewals, cancellations, refunds, member benefits, directories and eligibility work.
Know What You're
Signing Up For.
Annual Membership
LBFA memberships are annual unless a membership listing clearly states otherwise.
Managed Online
Automatic renewals follow the terms shown during purchase and can be managed through the member account.
Stop Future Renewal
Cancellation normally prevents the next renewal and does not create a refund for the current paid term.
Generally Non-Refundable
Activated membership dues are generally non-refundable, subject to documented exceptions and applicable law.
Membership Administration.
These terms apply together with the LBFA Member Handbook, Code of Conduct, eligibility requirements and other duly adopted Alliance policies.
LBFA memberships are annual unless otherwise stated. Membership begins after successful payment and continues for the applicable membership term.
LBFA may offer Supporting Member, Individual Angler, Family, Professional Guide, Business / Industry and other membership categories approved by the Alliance.
Eligibility, benefits, pricing and requirements may differ by membership category.
Membership dues are established by LBFA and may be changed through the organization's governing process.
The price displayed at purchase applies to the membership term being purchased. Future renewal pricing may change.
If a membership is enrolled in automatic renewal, the member authorizes the applicable payment method to be charged according to the renewal terms presented during purchase.
Members are responsible for keeping payment information current.
If a renewal payment fails, membership may enter a temporary grace period, be retried through the membership platform, expire or be suspended.
LBFA may restrict member benefits, profile access, directories or other privileges while membership dues remain unpaid.
Members may cancel future renewal through the designated membership-management system or another method approved by LBFA.
Cancellation normally stops future renewal but does not create a refund for the current paid membership term.
A member may resign from LBFA at any time.
Resignation does not normally entitle the member to a refund of dues already paid and does not erase prior disciplinary records or outstanding obligations.
Membership dues are generally non-refundable once membership has been activated.
LBFA may issue a refund for duplicate charges, administrative or technical errors, unauthorized duplicate transactions, or exceptional circumstances approved by authorized leadership.
Where membership includes physical merchandise or a member kit, fulfillment and shipping costs may be incurred shortly after purchase.
Once merchandise has been ordered, customized, packed, shipped or otherwise committed to fulfillment, those costs may be considered when evaluating any discretionary refund.
A member whose membership is terminated for violation of LBFA policies is not automatically entitled to a refund.
Termination may also result in loss of chapter privileges, directory listings, leadership roles, member resources and permission to use LBFA member branding.
If LBFA discovers that a member was not eligible under a mandatory eligibility rule, membership may be terminated.
LBFA is not obligated to refund dues when an applicant knowingly concealed disqualifying information or obtained membership while knowingly ineligible.
Memberships are generally non-transferable and may not be sold, assigned or transferred to another person or business without written approval from LBFA.
Members are responsible for keeping profile and contact information reasonably accurate and current.
Knowingly false or misleading profile information may result in disciplinary action.
Members may be offered privacy settings controlling how information appears in LBFA directories.
LBFA will make reasonable efforts to honor those settings. Information voluntarily published in a public directory may be visible to the general public.
LBFA may modify membership benefits, kit contents, programs, events, directory features or other offerings as the organization develops.
Joining LBFA does not guarantee that a local chapter exists in the member's immediate area.
Members without a local chapter may participate through an at-large structure or another method established by LBFA.
Some events may require separate registration, fees, waivers, age restrictions, capacity limits, role-specific background screening or additional safety requirements.
General membership does not guarantee admission to every event.
LBFA does not guarantee fishing conditions, catches, guide availability, access conditions, regulatory outcomes, weather or fishing success.
Membership is subject to the current LBFA Bylaws, Member Handbook, Code of Conduct, Membership Eligibility & Screening requirements, applicable Youth Protection rules, Complaint & Discipline Procedure and other duly adopted policies.
LBFA may amend membership policies through its governing process. Material changes should be communicated to members when reasonably practical.
Different Memberships.
Shared Standards.
Supporting Member
Mission-focused membership for supporters who want to stay connected to the Alliance.
Individual Angler
Full individual membership for recreational land-based anglers.
Family
Membership intended for participating members of an eligible household.
Professional Guide
Professional membership with additional guide, profile and directory requirements.
Business & Industry
Membership for businesses and organizations serving fishing and coastal communities.
Clear Rules.
Fewer Surprises.
Membership dues help support member services and Alliance operations. Refund and termination rules are designed to protect both members and the organization.
Canceling Future Renewal
A member may stop future automatic renewal through the designated membership-management process. Membership benefits may continue through the already-paid term unless membership is otherwise suspended or terminated.
Termination Does Not Create a Refund Right
Membership terminated for misconduct or verified ineligibility is not automatically refundable. Deliberate concealment of disqualifying information may eliminate eligibility for any discretionary refund.
Membership Is Not
Employment or Certification.
Professional Guides
Professional Guide members generally operate independently from LBFA. Membership does not create an employment, agency, franchise or government-certification relationship.
Guide pricing, scheduling, client contracts and independent business operations remain the responsibility of the guide.
Business & Industry
Business / Industry membership is separate from sponsorship or formal partnership unless a separate agreement exists.
Membership does not constitute an exclusive endorsement, certification or guarantee by LBFA.
Joining Means
Agreeing to the Terms.
By applying for, purchasing, renewing or maintaining LBFA membership, members acknowledge that they have access to the current membership terms and agree to comply with the LBFA Member Handbook, Code of Conduct, eligibility requirements and duly adopted policies.
